A big part of our vision is artistical exchange. The objectives are:
  • Promote Art
  • Develop and Explore Art
  • Give the possibility for communities to see the value in the cultural diversity in the world.
Mbanguía
The great "Sr. Mbanguía" is an legend in Pemba and Cabo Delgado. Since his chilhood he has been part of the artist community in Pemba. The biggest marked has his name, as it was here he in the 60'ties created a cultural space for his performances. Here people could see the Mapiko-dance (a mask dance)as well as many other performances like dance on high stilts everything with much fantasy.

The quality of his shows gave respect in the whole country and in the 70'ties he and his group were invited to big cultural festival in Cuba.

I 1996 he founded the cultural center "O Centro de Mapiko Moderno" near Pemba International Airport. The centre is situated at a hill with a spectacular view of the Pemba Bay, the third largest bay in the world. Here everyone is received with open arms for a tour round the centre which includes a historical part with models of old ways of living and at the end a dance show with the famous Mapiko-dance of course.

Grupo Nomo
This vocal group is from Maputo. The name "Nomo" means "mouth" in the language Shangane, spoken in Southern Mozambique. They sing in the southern tradition with humour and improvisation. When they pass by in Pemba, they make a welcome visit to us. Pleasant not just for us but for the whole community with their singing and openness.

Boynho
Boynho is an artist with great passion for painting. This passion he passes on to children and youth through his programme "Os Meus Sonhos" (My Dreams), where children and youth can learn to paint and express their dreams and their daily life. This is done in the compounds and outskirts of Pemba Town, as well as he is trying hard to raise money to go as often as possible to the rural areas so the children there can have the same experiences.
